Apple agrees to independent inspections:

They have chosen the Fair Labor Association to carry out the inspections – which is as far as I know generally thought of as a weaker version of the Workers Rights Consortium. Unless Apple feels continuing and increasing pressure, I wouldn’t expect much improvement.
